It’s December, it’s almost Christmas, it’s cold enough to cuddle with blankets, so you best believe that I will be watching my Christmas movies (and binge-watching Disney+) with pleasure!
So grab your own blanket, slip on those fuzzy socks, pop the corn, and take a seat with me. Take a vote and tell me below which of these five is your favorite!
5. Frozen (the first one, I haven’t seen the second one yet!) (While it is not technically a “Christmas” movie, the snow and ice is enough for me to consider it a December must,
4. 2003 ELF (I’m not always a fan of Will Ferrell, but he nailed this role!) Plus, Buddy is pretty much a modern-day Rudolph (the comparisons are solid, trust me, I did the analysis).
3. 1990 Home Alone (Yes, he is a total brat in the beginning who needs a good spanking, but you gotta love his ingenious booby-traps and the humor. Plus, he learns his lesson! Kind of…)
2. 2000 How the Grinch Stole Christmas (I swear this is one of Jim Carrey’s finest roles! I usually watch this movie multiple times during the holiday season. Plus, you have to enjoy the humor snuck in there just for the adults.)
1. 1994 The Santa Clause with Tim Allen
By far, this is the best Christmas movie. When I imagine “Santa Clause,” Tim Allen is the only face I see. For all I am concerned, he IS Santa Clause. It deals with real life issues like divorce, it has holiday joy, it has snarky sarcasm, and it leaves me with a happy feeling inside.
What do you think? Am I missing any of the classics? What is your top holiday movie?

A Christmas Carol is my favorite movie. I love The Muppet Christmas Carol and try to watch it every year. A Christmas Story, Polar Express and It’s A Wonderful Life are also on my list. I do like The Santa Clause but think the sequels are not as good as the first.

I’ve seen Polar Express before and I just cannot get behind it. I don’t know why but I’m just not a fan.

I’ve never seen It’s a Wonderful Life though

I don’t think I had ever seen Elf all the way through until just recently. I think because I’m not fond of Will Smith. But I loved it! My Must See every year, and yes I know it’s OLD, is “It’s a Wonderful Life”. 🙂 Happy Holidays, Kala Ann. ❤

I’m not a big fan of the actor either in general, but I do love him in Elf. I know it’s horrible, but I’ve never actually seen “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

You need to add it to your must see list. It’s just a good story and is you don’t like the black & white version, there is a colorized version. Merry Christmas KayaAnn! 🙂 ❤

I will second the Muppet Christmas Carol and add Bad Santa and Die Hard.

Haha, that’s what I’ve heard, but I’ve never seen it. Maybe I’ll get a chance to this year!

My favorite version of A Christmas Carol is the 1984 version starring George C. Scott. Also, if you enjoy watching concerts, check out Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration (their first Christmas concert).

Although the follow-ups aren’t at the same level as the original, I enjoy all of the Santa Clause movies as well.

That’s interesting, I never considered Kevin a brat in the Home Alone series. I tended to think it was his family who needed some work. And perhaps a call from children services for leaving their kid at home. Twice. (Three times if you count the weird third movie starring another kid).
I also like the older, stop motion films, Santa Clause is coming to Town especially. Charlie Brown’s Christmas is also great, along with the original animated Grinch. Cheers!

Oh man, I just rewatched both Home Alones (there are my husband’s absolute favorite Christmas movies) and I’m not saying Kevin’s family is perfect, but Kevin is SUCH a little stinker.

😊 I had a hat saying “Grandma’s little stinker” so maybe I’m too biased to weigh in lol.
