Separation Anxiety (A Poem)

Looking forward

His hand in mine

And I’m soaring

But I feel that slight

Tug at my heel

As I look back at the past

I look back at the relationships

That ultimately must change

And I feel my wings flutter and fold

Struggling to stay

  1. Hi, KaylaAnn! How are you? It’s been awhile. You’ve written a wonderfully expressed poem about separation that I can’t help but sigh along with. Time sure is changing.

    1. Hi MissM! As you can tell by my ridiculously late reply (I’m sorry!), I’ve been very busy. It’s the end of the semester at my college course, moving into the last month at my high school job, and getting closer to my wedding. All in all, I’m pulled in a couple thousand different directions every day, but I’m hanging in there. How are you?
