Poetry

Rising

Wounded

I am wounded.

Pierced by words

That impale, sharp as glass.

Fractured

My confidence is factured.

Struck by phrases

That strike, hard as a hammer

Rise.

I will rise.

A Phoenix

Still smoldering and covered

In my own ashes of defeat

I will

Rise.

  1. And still I Rise.
This painted the image of the Phoenix from Harry Potter. The bird was symbolic. No matter how much they get knocked down, you can choose to get back up.
    Faith is like that.

  2. Beautiful poem! Loved the imagery. I hope you’re doing well. When I write poetry it’s usually a refelection of what is going on in my life. So as I read your poem, I wondered if maybe you had a rough week? If so, I hope it gets better.

    1. Thank you so much Heather!
You’re definitely right, my poetry is often a reflection of what I’m going through or what I’ve gone through. This poem has more to do with what happened awhile ago, so I am doing much better now, I’m rising. 🙂
