Blogmas: Colors Reflected on Wet Pavement

One of my favorite parts about the Christmas season are all the different colors and pretty lights! There is just something so joyful and encouraging about seeing bright multi-colored light reflected off of rain soaked pavement. Don’t you think?

“The wet pavement reflects my heart

Perhaps a bit worn, perhaps a bit damp

But ultimately it celebrates the coming

Of bright, twinkling lights

And warm Eskimo kisses

Shared between lovers

And family alike.”

  1. This is exactly how I feel during Diwali. Lights everywhere and streets decorated. Ugh!! I already miss festive season. Luckily, in India all festivals are celebrated so soon enough Christmas lighting will go up and it’ll start to look festive again.

      1. Well, I’m not Christian, I’m actually a Hindu but I usually decorate a small Christmas tree with lights and Christmas ornaments. And let’s not forget the awesome Christmas carols. I and my friends also like going to church to pray, because why not. By like 20th or so most shopkeepers decorate their store with Christmas themed decoration and mall have Santa Claus give out chocolates to kids.

I guess it’s just one of the perks of living in a diverse country like India, all festivals are celebrated by everyone no matter the religion. It just gives all of us an excuse to stay festive throughout the year.
