As some of you might remember, my first Blog Party was a total smash! I really enjoyed meeting new bloggers and I know you guys did too!
So, I thought, let’s do it again!
For those of you who are not aware what a blog party is let me break it down. Generally speaking, a blog party is an online gathering for bloggers of all kinds to meet and engage with one another.
Here are some simple rules:
- First off, everyone is welcome to participate in this Blog Party (even if you do not currently follow me, although I would LOVE it if you did!) -> If you are a new follower of my blog, say hi and let me know so that I remember to drop by your blog and check you out.
- Leave a Comment! Say hi and tell us who you are and what your blog is about. Feel free to leave a link connecting back to your blog’s home page or to your favorite or most recent blog post! (Post this only once please.)
- Mix and Mingle! This is where the party begins. I am blessed to have over 1,000 followers and this is a great opportunity for many of my friends to meet each other. You guys are amazing and I think a lot of you would enjoy meeting and following one another.
- Remember, you never have to follow anyone just because they follow you. However, it is good manners to always return a page visit for a page visit. Did someone stop by your blog, like or leave a comment? Do the same for them! It only takes a minute.
- Don’t forget to REBLOG! Spread the fun by encouraging your own followers to join in the party! This is the best way to attract new bloggers by spreading the word.
Hey everyone! So happy Kayla is hosting another blog party, I had a great time at the last one 🙂
My blog is about balancing being creative/artistic and being practical/realistic, and I also write about art, writing, and life in general. I’m excited to meet everyone!

Hi! Thank you Kayla Ann, for hosting another blog party. The last one was so nice, I had to come again. How was everyone’s week so far? Mine was incredibly long. I’m just glad it’s the weekend.
I’m Miss M. I write poems and stories on my blog that the little voices whisper in my head. Here’s a link to a recent post of mine. Feel free to tell me your thoughts on it.

2. Sorry, I haven’t been around much lately to say who’s post is my favorite. Although, Bitchin’ in the Kitchen has some of the most hilarious posts ever. I recommend looking her up and reading any of her posts.
3. The best thing about being a blogger is interacting with my readers and learning from them.

Thanks for this amazing party, Kayla!!
1. My favorite post from this last month is probably the one I posted just yesterday, the first part in a serial short story I finished in July. It’s called “The Dragon’s Mark” and it’s a twist on the story of Cinderella. I’m super excited about that! http://upstreamwriter.blogspot.com/2018/08/serial-saturday-dragons-mark-prologue.html
2. My favorite post has to be this one! https://themadpuppeteer.com/2018/08/02/scars-of-drehana/ Way cool!
3. The best part of blogging is when I post something and people take the time and respond to it! I love getting feedback and hearing what people like about my writing, and what I can do better!

Hi everyone! I’m late to join the party, but better late than never! 🙂 I’ve been following KaylaAnn for a few months and I’m SO excited for her book to be released next year (?) I think! I live in Raleigh, NC, and I’m mainly a book blogger, though I occasionally blog about my self-published novels. Anyway, any other Hunger Games fans out there who joined the bandwagon in the past year or two (like me)??

Hey there Valerie! Welcome to the party, so glad to see you could make it 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m so excited as well! It should be released sometime early 2019 if all goes according to plan.
What is your favorite book that you’ve published so far?

Hey KaylaAnn! Thank you so much! It’s a really fun idea. 🙂 Hooray! That’s not too too long to wait…the year will be over before we know it. 😉 Do you think you’ll write your own novel someday? Or have you already? My favorite book that I’ve published so far is a YA fantasy called Everlasting. It’s kinda across between The Princess Bride and Lord of the Rings. 😉 I’m hoping to self-publish a novella here soon. We’ll see how this semester goes. Yes! #hungergamesforever

Lol it feels like a long wait but you’re probably right, it will fly by!
I’m currently working on my own series! 👍🏻 hopefully in the next few years when I’m more established 😁
Oooooo that sounds so interesting, I’m going to have to look that up now.
Really? What’s the novella about?

It seems long in the moment, but the next thing you know, it’s up and ready to be bought! Which company are you working with? Oooh! So fun! Is it fantasy or dystopian 😉 or what? Is it going to be a trilogy or…?
Yes, definitely let me know if you read it and what you think! It’s been a while since I’ve looked at it…but it was pretty enjoyable last time I edited it. 😉
It’s a Snow White retelling in the Civil War era. I wrote it for a contest, but since I didn’t win, I can do whatever I want with it! I’m currently editing and lengthening it. 🙂

I’m currently contracted with McFarland Company 👍🏻 fantasy and hopefully a trilogy, it’s something I’ve been working on since middle school. I’ve rewritten in 5 times 🤦🏼♀️
Oooooo that sounds super interesting!

Very cool! Oooh, I love a good fantasy trilogy! Best of luck as you try to finish it! I know how hard it is to get your idea just right when you’ve had it in your head for so many years. 😉
Thanks! I think so, too. 😉 😛

1. My favorite post from the past month is definitely The Book Tag (https://valeriecotnoir.wordpress.com/2018/07/30/the-book-tag/). I highly recommend the tag if any avid readers are looking for something fun to do! It was super fun to fill out the answers.
2. Jake, Lucid Dreamer Review was one of my favorite reviews from the past month. I love middle grade books that dig into kid’s complicated emotions and Rayleigh’s review made me want to pick up this book and read it straight away! https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/73770790/posts/1919380148
3. The best thing about being a blogger is: being able to say how I feel. Might sound strange, but I love the freedom that empty blog post gives me to unload my feelings about a book I just read, a phase of life I’m going through or a writing block I’m trying to push through. It’s why I love words so much. The power to communicate is often underrated.

3. The best thing about being a blogger is meeting my vulnerability every time it touches the paper. My writing is oxygen, where I couldn’t breathe peace in the physical world. I see through the eyes of my words as it meets on paper.

First link is a blog I wrote with utmost transparency I ever thought to tap into. I’m so touched how it came out. Will be doing more.
Second link is a poet I followed, they are amazing. This is a poem we can all relate too. The desire is so close, but the recipient walked away.

Hi everyone, this has been an awesome party!!
My favourite post would ‘5 Tips To Master The Art of Accepting Critique’. The reason I enjoyed writing this post is because critique was something I struggled with earlier in my writing career but I never understood how to overcome it until I utilized these steps. So if you want to know these tips be sure to check it out. https://youngwriterspro.wordpress.com/2018/07/24/5-tips-to-master-the-art-of-accepting-critique/
This month I had so many favourites from other bloggers I didn’t know how to choose but here goes: https://rachaelhope.co.uk/2018/08/05/tweetdeck-vs-buffer-how-should-you-schedule-your-tweets/
The best thing about being a blogger: is being able to share your knowledge, experiences and even challenges with the world. Its the feeling of diligence it gives when you know that you’ve made your mark, changed lives and inspired others.

And just like that, this Weekend Blog Party is over!
What a fabulous post to end on! As we write our blogs, we make ourselves vulnerable to critiques. You’re right, we need to learn how to understand and overcome critiques and even learn from them!
THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this amazing party, I had a blast!
