Poetry Selections from the Poetry Contest (PART 2) Including: Jay Pines, Ali Grimshaw, Chocotales, Ken, and Eugenia

Hello Everyone, I am back with more poems from the poetry contest!

If you’ve followed me for awhile now, you’ve probably noticed I am huge on community! So I’m sharing these poems for several reasons: one reason is for my followers to get to know and follow one another!

While these next poems did not win, they were within my top considerations! (Please note, this is not an order of the next winners [i.e. 3rd, 4th, 5th places] many of these submissions were tied in points)

***I intend on posting once or twice more with some other excellent poems! If I do not share your poems, please do not feel bad, it does not mean I did not enjoy them! There were many excellent poems, but I had to narrow it down. Thank you for participating!

Jay Pines’s “Legitimate” (disclaimer: this was not the poem he submitted but due to some glitches on my part, this is the poem I am hoping you will enjoy. It’s one of my favorites from him!)

“You can sum up my posts:

Random thoughts at random times.

But to make them legit,

I write them as rhymes.” (See More Here!)

Alie Grimshaw’s “Axis Tilt”

“Could this be the final day

of an autumn that I thought would last?

A mellowing of red between us

once crackling emotions now dust bits

collected in a whirling dervish . . . ” (Read More Here!)

Chocotales’s “Dance With My Father”

“Dark eyes twinkling,
he takes my hand and
tugs me from my seat of safety.
It’s always his style;
to be first on the dance floor
and, the truth is . . .” (Read More Here!)

Ken’s “He that shrinks”

“Boarding the time of death soon

Lightening the darkness at night

A quest i am at twilight

As fire sparks my wick, my birth, my tune . . . ” (Read More Here!)

Eugenia’s “The Good, The Bad, The Misunderstood”

“The owl, his moon and the ebony sky

He’s much wiser than money can buy

It’s eleventy oclock as night draws nigh

From his mighty roost he lets out a sigh . . . ” (Read More Here!)

Again, I want to apologize that I cannot put everyone’s poems up here, but I highly encourage everyone to visit the originally post and click through the comments to find some great poetry! Meet and Mingle!

Happy Reading, Blogging, & Writing!

    1. Oh, thank you Claire! You are so kind. I’m so glad that my contest was beneficial for you too.
And let me return the favor, you were one of my first followers and you were one of the first blogs I followed, and I am so glad that I did! I love reading your work and the conversations that we have.
      Have a great week!
